Forging a Legacy, One Word at a Time

Welcome to the first official post on TLWestWrites.com! If you’re reading this, you’re here at the very beginning (for you!) of a long and exciting journey, and I’m so grateful to have you along for the ride.

Every story starts with a spark. For me, that spark was a lifelong fascination with the myth of Atlantis. But a spark isn't a story. To build the world of Atlantis Unbound and its first book, The Sea Queen's Shadow, that spark had to be tended with years of work. I spent my time drawing maps of places that don't exist, writing histories for kingdoms of myth, and defining the rules of magic that feel as real as gravity.

Lately, the work has shifted from the page to the screen. Creating an author platform from scratch (this website, a Facebook page, a newsletter for the "Queen's Guard" to share the history and lore of my world) is a lot like building a kingdom. You need a sigil, a message, a place for your council to gather. Every detail, from the color of a wax seal to the name of a newsletter, is a brick in the foundation of the home I want to build for these stories and the community of readers who will one day love them.

Why put in all this work before the book even exists? Because I believe a story is more than just the words on the page. It's a world you can step into. This space is my invitation to you. It will be a behind-the-scenes look at the messy, coffee-fueled, and deeply rewarding process of bringing a world to life. It’s a chance for us to share in the journey together. And, with luck, a window into my own soul.
